Influence

(Gunna on set of his music video Drip or Drown)

Growing up I never took fashion seriously because I was just happy to have clothes on my back. I just remember growing up I wore hand me downs and clothes that I got off layaway from the Burlington Coat Factory. Of course with me not having the name brand clothes I got bullied a lot in school. I'm not going to lie it really did destroy my confidence because I was at the point were I hated my clothes and the way I used to dress. However, after watching this interview, it changed my whole perspective on fashion

I remember watching this interview by Gunna when I was in high school. I was still at the point in my life were I lacked confidence in the way I dressed. However, this interview changed my perspective on fashion because Gunna stressed the importance of even if you don't have the name brand clothes just be confident in the way that you dress.

Gunna is also credited for coming up with the term "drip" which means the way you dress and look. So, for example if you hear somebody say "Yeah you got that drip on today" just know that it means that they think that your outfit is very stylish and you look good.

  2. Lacy,
I definitely felt where you were coming from when you spoke about your clothes destroying your confidence. I went through the same thing back in highschool. I tried to change myslef entirely at one point
